Business card preparation in the program CorelDRAW X3
Open a new page Ctrl+N (File > New) After that define the page dimensions 92x52mm which is the standard business card size with a 1mm bleed on each side. Create a rectangle measuring 90x50mm which indicates the trim area. Draw another rectangle that will indicate the safe zone which will have dimensions 85x45mm then select both rectangles and center them relative to the page (Arrange>Align and Distribute>Center to page). Import the image Ctrl+I (File>Import) center the image on the page P (Arrange>Align and Distribute>Center to Page) put the image in the background Ctrl+End (Arrange>Order>To Back of page). It is very important that the image you imported is in the CMYK color palette and that its resolution is 300dpi. Also, besides images you can use vector objects. I will type my details as a text object and arrange them in the safe zone. Be sure to convert fonts to curves by selecting everything in your document Ctrl+A (Edit>Select All>Objects) , then ungroup everything (Arrange>Ungroup All), after that select only all text in the document (Edit>Select All>Text) and then press on the keyboard CTRL+Q (Arrange> Convert to Curves). Check in Document info whether there are any fonts in the file (Text statistics) and whether the image is in the CMYK color palette (Bitmaps) (File>Document info) finally delete the safe zone i cutting zone and save the business card Ctrl+S (Edit>Save).
Correct preparation of the business card makes producing your business cards easier and can sometimes reduce the cost.
Business card preparation can also be done in other programs such as Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop ...
Business cards should not be prepared in Word, Excel, Paint Brush, AutoCAD ...
Business card dimensions: 90mm x 50mm or 85mm x 55mm are among the most standard sizes used for business cards.
